Troop Booth Selection Site: Round 3 (1/20/14; 6:30pm)

Ewa/Kapolei Parent Interest Meeting (1/21/14; 5:30pm – 7:00pm; Ewa Beach Library)
Do you know a girl who is interested in joining the Girl Scouts and lives in the Ewa or Kapolei area? If so, we encourage you to attend a Parent Interest Meeting to learn more about what girls do in the Girl Scouts and how parents can get involved! This meeting is intended for parents with daughters in the Daisy (grades K-1), Brownie (grades 2-3) and Junior (grades 4-5) levels.

Gold Award Workshop (1/22/14; 5:30pm – 7:00pm; Council)
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest and most prestigious award that Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors can earn. The Gold Award Workshop is intended to familiarize you with the steps and standards of excellence that will enable you to successfully submit a project proposal and complete your project. During the workshop you will also get to meet adult volunteers who may be able to help you brainstorm ways to write a draft of your project proposal and expand the impact of your project.

Troop Cookie/Rewards Order Due to your SUM (1/22/14)

Community Service Project for Troop 791 (1/24/14)
Troop 791 is asking for your help! They will be having a collection drive on Friday, 1/24/14 from 5:15 – 9:15pm at the Pearl City Shopping Center Conference Room (located under Leeward Bowl). They are working with St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church to help with the community outreach to those who need assistance, and are learning about food collection, sorting, preparation and distribution. Items most needed are Canned Meats (spam, Vienna sausage, Tuna, Chili); Peanut Butter; Jelly; Toothbrushes and Toothpaste.

Hawaii Pacific University 2014 Girls & Women in Sports Day (1/25/14)
The HPU Athletics Department is proud to offer the 2014 Girls & Women in Sports Day: Passing the Torch, Blazing the Trail.  This is a FREE community event and is open to all girls ages 4-14 or grades K-8.  All participants will have the opportunity to participate in all sports and clinics offered at HPU: golf, tennis, basketball, volleyball, cross country, soccer, softball and acrobatics & tumbling.  Participants also receive a free t-shirt and lunch!  If you are signing up a group of 10+, please email Lauren Conching directly.

Service Unit Trainer Training (2/1/14)

Ever wondered what it’s like behind the scenes of Girl Scouts of Hawai`i? Learn to be a Service Unit Trainer in this morning session hosted by one of our Service Unit Managers, Anne R. In this session you will learn how to train our Service Unit Managers and Troop Leaders. Sign up today—the teacher in you will be glad you did!

Camping Hawaiian Style Training (2/8/14)
Deadline: 1/27/14
Interested in taking your troop camping? Join us for a day at Camp Paumalu and learn to teach outdoor skills to the girls in a troop, Service Unit or program setting. Outdoor cooking, knot tying, and fire building are just a few of the skills adults and Program Aides will learn.

PCCS Brownie Troop Camp (2/15 – 2/16/14)

In the lush, secluded setting of Camp Paumalu girls will spend their days learning basic outdoor skills, hiking, crafting, swimming, and making friends that will last a lifetime--all while building Courage, Confidence and Character!

Great Aloha Run Clean-Up (2/17/14)
Deadline: 1/15/14
Show your aloha and community spirit during the Great Aloha Run clean-up. Each year Girl Scouts show their support of the Great Aloha Run by helping with the rubbish pick-up at Aloha Stadium. Be part of this annual community service project and help keep Hawai'i beautiful.

Recent programs and events

Bethany and Caitlin from Troop 2096 on Hawai`i Island are playing a huge role in helping to address the feral cat problem on that island through their Gold Award project. They have held a number of neuter clinics, where they get anywhere from 60-90 cats to neuter and sometimes have to work from 6am – 9:30pm! Great job, girls!!!

Homemade Bath Products Inspired by Girl Scout Cookies


What’s better than selling and eating Girl Scout cookies??? How about making homemade bath products that smell like them too! That’s exactly what the girls in Daisy and Brownie Troop 445 are doing to celebrate the Cookie Season! They brought some samples to Council for us to try… and they are fantastic! ·         Are you encountering problems with registering your girls? Are you unable to see your troop roster? Are you missing girls from your roster? If so, please submit a Help Desk Request Form online.

·         Just a reminder, all troop leaders, adult volunteers and girls must be registered to participate in any troop activity including meetings, events and selling cookies. Troop Leaders, please be sure to check you rosters and make sure your girls are registered today!
