Girl Scout Cookies: Giving Back

This past weekend I was at the post office when the lady behind the counter stopped me and asked if I was the “Girl Scout lady”. Her purpose in asking is that she wanted to thank the Girl Scouts for the coloring books and crayons that were donated to the emergency room at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Her son was a patient there recently and was so appreciative to have something to do and keep his mind off his injury while waiting to be seen by the doctor. I told her the items were donated by troop 928 in Waikoloa. Elise Wehr, along with troop leader Fran Harman, used the troop cookie proceeds to purchase and deliver the goodies to the hospital.”
