Opportunities Galore

There is so much opportunity at our doorsteps. Here is a sampling of activities you may be interested in.

Kauai: The Pink Pineapple Project

Planting 100 pineapples in MoloaĆ” at Retro Farm (North Shore) 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. $ 7 per girl (Tshirt and patch to be provided). Limited space available. Contact Shereen at 254-4984.

Oahu: Big Time Painting Workshops for Teens
While this is not a GSH-sponsored event, we thought you'd like to know about it. One-day free after school workshops will be held at the Arts at Mark's Garage October 13 - December 10 from 3:30 to 5:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call 521-2903 for more details.

Apply for the Violet Richardson Award:
This award is for young women who believe in the power of volunteer action. Its purpose is to recognize young women who make the community and world a better place through volunteer efforts such as: fighting drugs, crime and violence; cleaning up the environment; and working to end discrimination and poverty. Volunteer actions that benefit women or girls are particularly encouraged.
Winners are eligible to receive cash awards for themselves and the charitable organizations of their choice.
