Go Gold!

“When that first ISS [International Space Station project] notice came out, I printed it but left it on my desk thinking it wasn't anything Raffie would be interested in.  She happened to be at my office and just saw it and was so intrigued.  At the time, she had never been involved with computer programming, CAD design, aerospace engineering, etc.  This project, while massively time consuming, opened up a whole new world for Raffie and gave her such a confidence that I had never seen.  She grew by leaps and bounds that year and the next by working on that project.

Then, being a co-emcee in a huge room full of professional people for the Women in Distinction Dinner.  I was nervous for Raffie but she wasn't nervous at all.  She thought it was good fun!  Again, thanks to girl scouting, she was well prepared.”

We’d like to say a special thank you to Mitzi Lee for allowing us to share some  of her heartfelt words.  Do you know a girl who has been equally impacted by the Girl Scout program?  Have they grown courage, confidence, and character?  We'd love to hear their story!  Send them to jegire@girlscouts-hawaii.org.
